Things to do at Yellow Springs

  • Glen Helen Nature Preserve ↗

Explore woodland paths, cascades and the Yellow Spring, or visit the preserve’s nature exhibits and Raptor Center.

Paid parking applies for nonmembers. The Steps Lot at 505 Corry Street leads to more than 110 stone steps; the Cascades Lot at 1075 OH-343 offers a different approach. No swimming, wading or bikes; keep pets leashed.

  • John Bryan State Park ↗

Explore Little Miami River scenery and choose from the park’s named trails and picnic areas.

Trail grades vary. The map marks the short Storybook Trail as easy with an accessibility symbol; this does not apply to every gorge route.

  • Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve ↗

Follow marked trails through the Little Miami River gorge beside John Bryan State Park.

Pets are not permitted in the nature preserve. Stay on marked routes and choose a trail suited to your footing and mobility.

  • Downtown Yellow Springs ↗

Browse independent shops, galleries and places to eat in the village.

Check individual businesses for current hours. The guide’s driving estimate ends at John Bryan State Park, not downtown.

  • Young's Jersey Dairy ↗

Stop for homemade ice cream and explore the dairy’s separately operated farm and family activities.

Activity hours vary from the Dairy Store’s hours; check the operator before planning mini golf or a farm visit.

Getting there

Start at the Day Lodge public parking area inside John Bryan State Park, shown on the official park map. This outdoor starting point is outside downtown Yellow Springs; drive separately to the village, Glen Helen or Young’s Jersey Dairy. Follow the signed park roads rather than campground or private access roads.
