Things to do at Mohican
Lyons Falls Trail ↗
Hike through woodland toward Big and Little Lyons Falls near the Clear Fork Gorge.
The state map grades the two-mile Lyons Falls Trail moderate. Waterfall flow and footing vary.
Mohican Covered Bridge ↗
Visit the covered bridge spanning the Clear Fork, with nearby parking and trail access.
Use designated parking and follow the marked trail connections.
Clear Fork Gorge Overlook ↗
Take in the forested valley from the Gorge Overlook Scenic Area.
The overlook and the Gorge Overlook Trail are different experiences. The map grades the trail extreme; do not treat it as an easy walk.
Pleasant Hill Lake ↗
Explore the lake’s boating, beach and trail options using the official visitor information.
Check conditions before swimming or boating. The official campground notice, checked September 10, 2026, says Area E is closed for construction until summer 2027; verify before planning a stay.
Getting there
Start at the designated parking beside Mohican’s covered bridge in the Clear Fork Gorge. Use the signed park road approach; this is separate from the lodge and campground parking areas. Check the park map before choosing a trail: the gorge routes have different difficulty ratings.
